Text Box: PPThis permitted footpath allows you access to Gamlingay Wood, a nature reserve managed by the Cambridgeshire Wildlife Trust. As it is mostly used by car drivers visiting the woods, it is possible to park the cars close to the entrance to the wood.

Text Box: PPAccess from Gamlingay is to turn east off the Waresley Road, just after South Lodge of Waresley Park.  Coming from Waresley, turn east after Windy Ridge smallholding.

Inside you can see the remains of wood banks from the manorial divisions of the 12th century and an earlier circular enclosure of unknown origin. Aerial photographs have revealed a medieval field system in the field to the south with its ridges and furrows (SMR 11393).
